ArtWire is an AI-powered PR platform built for the art world. It helps galleries, artists and PR agencies generate press releases in an art-critical voice, manage media contacts, send personalised pitch campaigns, and track coverage.
Who is ArtWire for?+
Galleries (commercial and public), working artists, PR agencies representing art world clients, and institutions like museums, fairs, and residencies.
Do I need technical knowledge to use ArtWire?+
No. If you can write a brief, you can use ArtWire. The platform is designed for PR professionals and arts administrators, not developers.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes — the Starter plan is permanently free. You get 3 press releases per month, access to the basic media database, and one media list. No credit card required.
Press releases & AI
What makes ArtWire's AI different from ChatGPT?+
ArtWire's AI was specifically trained on the register of Artforum, Frieze, and e-flux. It generates in third person, present tense, using vocabulary critics actually use — materiality, interrogates, foregrounds, gestural. It never writes "We are pleased to announce." Generic AI tools produce marketing copy; ArtWire produces press copy.
Can I edit what the AI generates?+
Absolutely. The AI gives you a strong first draft — you always have full control to edit, refine, and approve before publishing or sending.
What categories of press releases does ArtWire support?+
12 categories: Exhibition Opening, Exhibition Closing, Art Fair, Artist Announcement, Auction Results, Public Art, Gallery Opening, Collection Acquisition, Publication Launch, Award, Residency, and Other.
Does ArtWire store my press releases?+
Yes. All your press releases are saved in your account and can be edited, duplicated, exported to PDF, or added to a press kit at any time.
Media database & contacts
How many media contacts are in the database?+
Over 850 verified journalists, critics, curators, editors, and bloggers. Each contact has beats, regions, and publication information. The database is curated and updated regularly.
Can I add my own contacts?+
Yes. You can add private contacts that only appear in your account, in addition to the global database.
Can I import contacts from a CSV?+
Yes, on all plans. Use the bulk import tool to upload a CSV with name, email, publication, beats, and region columns. We provide a downloadable template.
Are email addresses visible?+
No. Email addresses are masked in the interface to protect journalist privacy. Outreach is sent directly through ArtWire — you compose the message, we send it, the address stays private.
Campaigns & outreach
How does campaign sending work?+
You select a press release, choose a media list, write a personalised pitch, and send. ArtWire handles delivery, tracking pixels, and open/click tracking for each individual contact.
Can I personalise pitches per contact?+
Yes. Use {{contact_name}} and {{publication}} tokens in your pitch body — ArtWire replaces them with each contact's real name and publication before sending.
What email sending limits apply per plan?+
Starter: 50/month. Professional: 2,000/month. Agency: 10,000/month. Custom plans are available for higher volume.
Can I track who opened and clicked?+
Yes. Each send is individually tracked for opens, clicks, and replies. You can see engagement per contact on their profile page.
Press kits
What is a press kit?+
A branded, shareable web page that bundles a press release, artist bio, and press images into a single public URL. Send the link to journalists instead of email attachments.
Can I password-protect a press kit?+
This feature is on our roadmap. Currently press kits can be toggled public or private — private kits are only accessible to logged-in users.
Can I export a press kit as PDF?+
Yes, on all paid plans. The PDF export includes cover page, press release, artist bio, and image assets.
White-label & Agency
What does white-label mean on the Agency plan?+
Agency plan users can remove ArtWire branding from all public-facing press kit pages and outreach emails, replacing it with their own logo, brand name, and colours.
Can I send from my own email domain?+
Custom sending domains (e.g. press@yourgallery.com) are available on custom/enterprise plans. Agency plan emails are sent from ArtWire's verified domain with your brand name as the sender.
Can I manage multiple clients on one account?+
Client workspaces are on our roadmap for the Agency plan. Currently, agencies manage all clients from a single account with separate media lists and press releases per client.
Billing & plans
What plans are available?+
Starter (free), Professional (£99/mo or £79/mo billed annually), Agency (£299/mo or £239/mo billed annually), and Custom plans for institutions and large agencies. All paid plans include a 20% discount with annual billing. See the pricing page for full details.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. No contracts, no lock-in. Cancel from your account settings and you'll retain access until the end of your billing period.
Do you offer annual billing?+
Yes. Annual billing saves you 20% — Professional drops to £79/mo (billed at £948/yr) and Agency to £239/mo (billed at £2,868/yr). You can switch between monthly and annual billing from your account settings.
Is there a discount for non-profits or institutions?+
Yes — registered charities, public galleries, and educational institutions qualify for a 30% discount. Email hello@artwire.art with your registered charity number or institutional affiliation.
Privacy & security
Where is my data stored?+
All data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) in the EU region. We comply with GDPR and do not sell user data.
Who can see my press releases?+
Only you. Press releases are private unless you explicitly publish them or share a press kit link.
Are journalist email addresses safe?+
Yes. Email addresses in our database are never exposed to users or sent to the client browser. All outreach goes through ArtWire's server-side sending.
